Some key changes for the 2026 Ford Explorer

For the 2026 model year, the Explorer is offering a new model called the Tremor that will provide off-road features like a one-inch suspension lift, all-terrain tires, underbody skid plates, a Torsen limited-slip differential system and Bright Orange exterior accents. The new Explorer will also have new grille and wheel designs on select trims. In addition, it adds updates to technology and infotainment that will help keep you connected as you travel.

Interior highlights

The 2026 Ford Explorer will provide a spacious interior that  offers both comfort and practicality. With seating for up to seven, or six with the available second-row captain's chairs, the Explorer is a great solution for family road trips. The cabin comes with a range of upholstery options, from durable cloth in base trims to premium synthetic or genuine leather in higher-level models. Front seats can be equipped with heating, ventilation, and even massage functions.

The Explorer also gives you a generous amount of cargo space, along with fold-flat second and third rows that make it simple to convert the interior from passenger space to hauling more cargo. Other amenities like tri-zone automatic climate control, power-adjustable front seats, ambient lighting, and an available panoramic sunroof give you and your family a comfortable and enjoyable traveling experience.

Safety features

The 2026 Explorer will be equipped with the Ford Co-Pilot360™ suite of safety features, that includes automatic emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and adaptive stop-and-go cruise control. Other safety features like pedestrian detection, driver attention monitoring, rear parking sensors, and a safe exit warning system provide an extra level of security for drivers and family members.
